Bought it!

I made a quick stop on my way to work this morning (@ 5:30 AM!!) to make a special little purchase.
What could have been so important that I had to buy it at that hour in the morning?

New Moon tickets for me and a couple friends!! I hope those little ticket machines don't have cameras in them. I'm a tiny bit embarrassed to be caught buying New Moon tickets early in the morning.

I'd heard a rumor at school the night before that tickets at this specific theater were close to being sold out on opening day. It pays to know people who have little sisters who work at the movie theater. ☺
I just have to see New Moon on its opening day. So much, that I postponed a dinner date with friends so that I could make the 5:00 showing. As pathetic as many may think this sounds, I don't care!
Anyone else pre-buy tickets, or are you just going to do what normal people do and buy them as you arrive at the theater?

Today is a fantabulous Monday!

In a sea of Monday-haters, I am in absolute love with my Monday!!
As far as I am concerned, this is a great way to start off a week...

  • I got an A-OK from my gyne for another year
  • a sweet old man paid for my oatmeal at Starbucks because 'my smile brightened his day'
  • my car guy called from the VW dealership and says he has a great trade in deal for me

Anyone else having a remarkably great Monday?

A little discount for you

My email inbox has surprised me with a little treat...an email with a 20% off coupon for the Coach Factory Store!!

Apparently they are already marking down items 25%-60%, so another 20% on top of that is a great deal!

Check out the coupon here.

Click on this link to find the Coach Factory Store closest to you.

I think I'll make my way there tonight. Hopefully I will score some great finds to share with you.

A worthy sequel??

Looks like the three men's little lady is on her way to becoming a bride! Or at least that is what Steve Guttenberg says about the upcoming Three Men and a Bride.
It's been so long since I've seen the first one, Three Men and a Baby, I don't remember too much about it, and I don't recall anything about the second one, Three Men and a Little Lady. Looks like I'll be adding them to my Netflix for a little refresher.
You all know I'm a big movie goer, so I'll definitely be seeing it. Although I can't say it'll be at the top of my list.
Any of you out there think the third movie is worth seeing?

I am broken

Yesterday evening I went to grab to school bag out of my trunk and seriously jacked up my back. I immediately collapsed against the car and felt like the wind had been knocked out of me.
And yes, I had an audience for this, so I was completely embarrassed by my overly theatrical performance.

After a few minutes I realized that with the pain there was no way I was going to class, so I putted my way back home to my Biofreeze, ice pack and restless night of sleep.
So here I am at work switching between my heating pad and ice, wishing I would have stayed home. I think I may cut out of here early and return to bed to recoup.
What lesson comes from this? If your school bag is so heavy you throw your back out when extracting it from the trunk
a.) you ought to get one of those roller backpacks to put your stuff in (ugh, I know!!!)
b.) you are getting to be an old lady
c.) you should try not to do it in a parking garage full of people next time
Um, how about all of the above!?! ☺

Love at first sight

The instant I laid eyes on this beauty, I knew that she was meant to be mine.

So, of course, I emailed a picture of the gem to my boyfriend. He thinks that the 7+ carats might be a little on the excessive side and he hasn't quite saved up the $800,000 for it, but he'll see what he can do.
Hmmm, that doesn't sound very promising. I can still dream though, can't I?
I am really feeling the Asscher cut lately, but don't know if it's a very common cut. Thoughts?
What is your favorite cut?

Bahamas, no more

So after weeks of researching and working out deals for a great Christmas cruise through the Caribbean, the idea has been nixed.

A few days ago my boyfriend suggested blowing off the cruise and buying a new bedroom set and living room set instead. Initially I was a little bummed, but seeing as how I've been trying to get him on board with new furniture for years (literally...years!), I quickly warmed up to the idea.
I am still a little frown-y about missing out on the tropical holiday though. I floated the idea of heading up to British Columbia for a few days surrounding Christmas as well as buying all the new furniture and it looks to be a winner!

My nails are in ♥

My nails have been obsessed with these two hues from the OPI Coleccion De Espana...

Give Me Moor! and Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees.
They just aren't happy unless they are sporting these hot, perfect for Fall colors. Now if I could just get my cuticles on board and to quit drying out, I would have quite the fierce mani going on.
What is your favorite nail polish this season?

Going ga-ga for Gaga

What is funny? I'll tell ya.

How about walking in on your big, macho boyfriend rockin' out to a Lady Gaga music video!?!

Wait, it gets better. How about when he notices you were there he tried to play it off like he wasn't doing anything?
Yep, that's freakin' funny!

Fall back

Here we have the one Sunday a year that gives me an extra hour to sleep in and of course, this also ends up being the morning that I wake up at 6:30 (which is now actually 5:30) and can't go back to sleep. Dang my internal clock!

I guess I will have to find something else to spend my extra hour on. Maybe a little hike, a trip to the market or perhaps I will just go to bed an hour earlier.

What are you going to do with your extra hour today?
Oh, and Paranormal Activity wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be. I actually laughed at it rather than be scared by it. But there were a few parts that made me jump...

Happy Hallo'weiner'

I thought the saying was so stinkin' cute, I just had to steal borrow it from my girl, Tracy.

I bought this little pumpkin shirt for our weiner dog a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it would be torture for him, but he actually loves it and hates to have it taken off.
I can't let him wear it after Halloween, so I'll have to find him something more season appropriate.

Happy Halloween to you all, I'll be at Paranormal Activity...eek!

Thievery

At dinner last night I liked the pen the waiter brought me to sign the bill with so much, I stole kept it.
I did this after tacking on an extra $3 to his tip.

This makes us even, right?? Sorta?
OK, so I do feel a little bad about it, but really, this is the best pen ever.
I am a dork.

Dinner party dunce

I must have been out of my mind when I offered to host a dinner party for tomorrow night.

You see, I am the anti-hostess. I totally get everything that goes into being a great hostess, I just don't have the time or energy to do it. Oh yeah, and I can't really cook either.

In hopes to disguise my shortcomings, I will be serving my trusty go-to dish that never fails to bring in rave reviews (and tricks people into thinking that I know my way around the kitchen), Four-Cheese Stuffed Shells with Smoky Marinara. This stuff is off the charts, freakin' de.lic.ious.
Toss in some garlicky bread, a green salad with a twist and some store bought cheesecake, and you've got yourself a fabulous, dinner party-caliber feast.
Oh, and the recipe is for two pans, so you can eat one and then freeze one to use on a night your find yourself having company on short notice.
Best back up dish. Ever.
Don't say I never gave you anything. ☺

I am on the hunt...

...for a pair of Wellies.

I can't believe that I've lived in rainy Seattle for 10 years without them!
I've done a bit of local searching, but have come up empty handed.

I am weary to buy online since I want to make sure they fit good first. Some that I've tried on have been a little too narrow.
Suggestions?

What's all the fuss?

So I have for the first time ventured into the world of Spanx.

I've gotten by without them so far, but the sales gal was floored...and I mean fa-loored when I told her I'd never used them.

So me being curious, and her being a little on the pushy side, I bought a pair. And I gotta say, I don't really notice a difference.

She said that the height/weight table on the back ran 'entirely accurate', but I am wondering if she is wrong. I'm thinking that I need a size smaller in order to feel all sucked in...and trust me, I've got some stuff that could be sucked in! ☺

So really, do your Spanx run true to the sizing chart, or am I just not made for Spanx?
